A New Vision for Living in El Paso
APR is proud to partner on Verdancia, a 777-acre master-planned community bringing a fresh, thoughtful approach to residential development in Horizon City, Texas, just east of El Paso. As one of the region’s most ambitious communities in decades, Verdancia blends vibrant cultural inspiration with desert-resilient design. We’re excited to be welcomed to El Paso!

Verdancia draws its name from the fusion of “verde” (green) and “danza” (dance), reflecting both environmental stewardship and the region’s lively spirit. Native Chihuahuan Desert landscaping, wide medians with 30-foot parkways, and authentic design themes set Verdancia apart in a market where such features are rare.
This is APR’s second project with Hunt Companies, following our successful collaboration on The Colony in Bastrop, Texas.
“We (developers) all look around and see who’s up to what. We’re in a competitive business for sure, and we need to appeal to buyers. This is all about wanting to appeal to buyers and to have neighborhoods (that) people are proud to live in and . . . in the long-run, hold value.“
— Justin Chapman Executive Vice President, Hunt Companies
In El Paso, APR worked with the Verdancia team to establish design guidelines that raise the bar for Horizon City. According to Verdancia Project Manager, Franklin Stubbs LeBaron, “APR helped us to apply best practices, taking the stress off and allowing us to focus on delivering a great product.” These guidelines include clay tile roofs, staggered lot configurations for visual interest, and architectural reviews managed through APR’s digital platform to ensure a consistent, high-quality aesthetic as the community grows.
The master plan provides for approximately 2,400 single-family homesites, along with 20 acres of multi-family housing and 100 acres of commercial space. Winding trails connect neighborhoods, pocket parks, and two amenity centers—The Veranda and a future second center—designed for residents of all ages. Pickleball courts, pools, fitness facilities, playgrounds, and BBQ areas encourage connection and healthy living.
“In terms of amenities, beauty, and native landscaping, it’s going to be unique in the El Paso market..“
— Franklin Stubbs LeBaron, Verdancia Project Manager
Infrastructure for Unit I is scheduled for completion in late 2025, with initial home deliveries expected in mid-2026. Verdancia is poised to become a defining community for Horizon City—one that honors the desert environment while offering a fresh vision for modern living.
